Connecting the paths of the Grotte Del Bussento through highlighting a natural center
Conducted under the tutorship of SANAA and carried out in collaboration with WWF Italia, A Communal Link is a space nested within the heart of the Grotte Del Bussento, providing resting spaces, an observation terrace, and enhancing an already existing amphitheatrical landscape. An undulating canopy is introduced where its form takes cues from the circulation flow of visitors across the site, creating a wide spanning shaded space that directs views and motion. This architectural intervention intends to enhance the visitors experience of the landscape by highlighting certain elements and allows the viewers a closer interaction with nature.
The programs brought forth by this proposal are optimized to the needs of the WWF in terms of enhanced visitor experience; therefore, the design becomes a real environmental commitment, one that emphasizes its unique elements and begins to connect all WWF sites around the world.
